Marjorie (Pribble) Beckett, age 87 of Williamsport, died at 11:00 p.m. on Monday, January 3, 2011 at her residence.
Marjorie was born on June 8, 1923 in West Lebanon, IN. She was the daughter of Glen W. and Edith O. (McIntosh) Pribble. She was a Warren County resident most of her life. She was a 1941 graduate of Williamsport High School and then graduated from St. Elizabeth School of Nursing. She served in the Army Nurse Corps and later received a Bachelor of Science degree after her service. Marjorie married Maurice “Gene” Beckett on September 11, 1951 in Evansville, IN. He preceded her in death on October 22, 1968.
Marjorie worked as a social worker for the Fountain and Warren Counties at what is now the Division of Family and Children Services for over 15 years. She was a member of the American Legion Post #259. She faithfully attended the class of 1941 Williamsport reunion. She enjoyed reading, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.

3 children, Kristin Jones (husband: Edward) of Lafayette, Glen E. Beckett (wife: Trudy) and Carl Beckett both of Williamsport
1 sister, Madge Barnhart of Attica
2 grandchildren, Kory Jones and Katie Jones
1 great-grandchild, Kylee Jones
Marjorie was preceded in death by a grandson, Kyle Jones.
Visitation will be on Thursday, January 6, 2011 from noon until service time at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Gerald Burt officiating at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport. Ladies auxiliary services will be at 1:45 pm. Interment will be at Rossville Cemetery, Rossville, IL with full military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to the Warren County Community Foundation, Valerie McIntosh fund.
