Ira "Marty" Martin Harp, Jr.

Ira Martin “Marty” Harp Jr. age 61 of West Lebanon died after a brief battle with cancer at his home surrounded by his loving family at 5:06 p.m. on Saturday, July 2, 2011. Marty was born in Indianapolis, IN on February 20, 1950. He was the son of Ira Martin Harp Sr. Marty married Kathy Fields on November 6, 2010 in West Lebanon, IN. She survives. Marty was raised in Indianapolis where he attended Tech Arsenal High School. He then lived briefly in Colorado and had been a resident of Warren County since 1980. Marty was a welder and iron worker who prided himself as a handyman and jack of all trades. He enjoyed wood working and metal working. He also enjoyed throwing darts, playing cards, poker and Yahtzee. He especially enjoyed spending time with grandchildren. Surviving with his wife Kathy are: children and grandchildren, Sonny Harp(Wife: Krissy) and their children, Allison & Abby of Lafayette, IN, Shayne Harp(Wife: Peggy) and their children, Lestat, Geddy, Zoe, Vera, Levi & Janelle of Crawfordsville, IN, Stacy Amble (Husband: Paul) and their children, Airielle, Harley, P.J. & Daniel of Pence, IN, Justin Inman and his daughter Keisha of West Lebanon, IN; and step sister, Jodi Hamer of Texas. He was preceded in death by his father, Ira Martin Harp Sr. Visitation will be held at 4665 South ST Rd 263, Williamsport at 1:00 p.m-2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 9, 2011. Memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Ministers Don Williams and Bruce Thornsbrough officiating. Immediately following the service a celebration of life with food and fellowship with family and friends will continue at same address.
