Daniel D. Minnick, age 91 of Goshen, IN, formerly of Williamsport and Pine Village died at 8:50 a.m. on Friday, September 02, 2011 at Greencroft Health Care in Goshen, IN.
Daniel was born in Shawnee Township, Fountain County, Indiana on October 16, 1919. He was the son of Dowe S. and Blanche McConnahay Minnick. He lived in Warren Township in Warren County for 45 years, moving to Williamsport in 1980 where he resided until moving to Goshen in 2003. He was a 1938 graduate of Attica High School. He married Jeanne I. Rhode on July 26, 1947 in Attica. She preceded him in death in 1973. He later married Dorothy I. Swadley in 1974 in Pine Village. She preceded him in death in 1983.
Daniel attended Marion Military Institute prior to joining the National Guard and enlisting in the U.S. Army and serving during World War II. He worked for Harrison Steel Casting Company for two years and was a farmer all of his life. He enjoyed spending the winter months in Naples, FL. He was a member of the Pine Village Christian Church, Elks Lodge of Lafayette, Pine Village Lions Club, and American Legion Post #259 Williamsport. He will be remembered as a basketball star in Attica under Coach Red Lambert.

2 sisters, Ann Galloway (husband: Dale) of Mabank, TX and Betty Seigrist of Carmel, CA
3 grandsons, Jim Brinkruff (wife: Claudia) of Greenfield, IN and Dan Brinkruff (wife: Kelly) and Steve Brinkruff (wife: Christy) both of Fishers, IN
7 great-grandchildren, Audrey, Liam, Mia, Toby, Luke, Kate, and Ethan
Daniel was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy.
A celebration of Dan’s life will be held on Sunday, October 23, 2011 at 2:30 p.m. at the American Legion Post #259 Williamsport. There will be a time of fellowship with the family at the conclusion of the service. Finger foods will be provided. The family requests that those attending dress casually and wear seed company/farm hats. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Greencroft Foundation , PO Box 819, Goshen, IN 46527.
