Betty P. (Hipsher) Galvin, age 75 of Williamsport, died at 10:15 P.M. on Friday, July 20, 2007 at St. Vincent Seton Specialty Hospital in Lafayette, IN.
Betty was born in Williamsport, IN on March 21, 1932. She was the daughter of Ira and Louise (Routzahn) Hipsher. She was a lifelong resident of Warren County. In 1950 she graduated from Williamsport High School. Betty married Richard J. Galvin on October 15, 1950 in Williamsport. He survives.
Betty worked at the Grab-It-Here in Williamsport, P. N. Hirsch Department Store in Attica, Harrison Steel Casting Co. in Attica, and the Old National Bank in Williamsport. She was a member of the Williamsport Christian Church and Eagles Women Auxiliary in Attica. Betty was a homemaker, pet lover, and enjoyed reading and working crossword puzzles.
Surviving with her husband are,
1 daughter, Cheryl Lynn Galvin of Attica, IN; 1 sister, Martha I. Simpson of Williamsport, IN; and 1 brother, Edward Allen Hipsher (wife: Doris) of Veedersburg, IN. Betty was preceded in death by 1 sister, Maxine Bryant and her favorite brother-in-law, Ronnie Simpson.
Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 24, 2007 from noon until service time of 2:00 P.M. EDT. Rev. Don Williams will be officiating. Interment will be at West Lebanon Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Williamsport-Washington Township Public Library, Williamsport Christian Church, or the North Central Indiana Spay & Neuter at 7109 Goldsberry Road, Battleground, IN 47920.
