Harold L. Brazzell

Harold L. “Bud” Brazzell, age 78 of West Lebanon, was found dead at his residence at 1:35 P.M. on Wednesday, July 25, 2007. Harold was born in Vigo County, near Terre Haute, IN on November 2, 1928. He was the son of Otto and Hazel (Hinkle) Brazzell. He had been a resident of Warren County since 1955 and resided in West Lebanon since 1966. Harold was a graduate of Pleasantville High School. He also graduated from Indiana College of Mortuary Science in 1952. Harold married Doris Jean Gaskill in Independence, IN on December 20, 1952. She preceded him in death on September 16, 2003. Harold served in the U.S. Army from 1946-1948 and 1948-1952 serving during the Korean War. Harold worked as a hopper mechanic for Flexel Corp in Covington, IN from 1956 to 1994 when he retired. He was also an associate with Crowmer and Siddens Funeral Home from 1964 through 1970. He worked as a trade embalmer for several years. Harold was a member of the Riverview United Methodist Church in Independence, IN. He served as President of the Textile Workers Union. He was also a member of the F & AM West Lebanon #352, receiving his 50 year pin, the West Lebanon Chapter #162 OES, Shrine Club Terre Haute Valley, and the American Legion Post #52 of Attica, IN. Harold served as the Warren County Coroner from 1967-1974. Surviving are 1 son, Harold “Wayne” Brazzell (wife: Sue) of Elkhart, IN; 2 daughters, Michelle Hetrick (husband: Cary) of rural Williamsport, IN and Pamela Brazzell of Lebanon, IN; 1 sister, Marie Weedmark (husband: Skip) of Klamath Falls, OR; 1 brother, John Brazzell of Auburn, IN; 3 grandsons, Christopher Hetrick, Dustin Hetrick (wife: Angela) and Travis Hetrick; special nephew, Terry Brazzell; and special niece, Cheryl Beckage. Harold was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Doris, and infant sister. Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Sunday, July 29, 2007 from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Private graveside services will be held at Independence Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the West Lebanon Public Library.
