Esther B. Moore

Esther B. (Jacks) Moore, age 89 of Williamsport, died at 6:20 P.M. on Thursday, August 2, 2007 at The Waters of Williamsport. Esther was born in Attica, IN on June 23, 1918. She was the daughter of Roy Oscar and Lena (King) Jacks. She was a graduate of Attica High School. She married Hubert F. Moore on July 31, 1948. He preceded her in death on August 29, 1983. Esther lived in Indianapolis until 1969 when she moved to Williamsport. Esther worked at Fairfield Manufacturing Corp. in Lafayette, IN and later owned and operated the family business in Indianapolis for over 20 years until 1968. She was a member of the Maranatha Baptist Church in Covington and had most recently attended the Williamsport Christian Church. Esther enjoyed animals and gardening. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Surviving are 3 brothers and 3 sisters, Jack Jacks (wife: Gloria) of Albuquerque, NM, Jerry Jacks (wife: Joan) of Williamsport, Joan Stetler and Judy Wilkerson both of Covington, IN, Janet Knowles (husband: Fred Herbert) of Lafayette, IN and John Jacks of Albany, Oregon; stepson, Richard Moore; 4 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Esther was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Hubert, and brother, Jim Jacks. Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Saturday, August 4, 2007 from 11:00 A.M. EDT until service time of 1:00 P.M. EDT. Bob Cunningham will be officiating. Interment will be at Oak Hill South Cemetery in Crawfordsville. Memorial donations may be made to the Maranatha Baptist Church in Covington.
