Lori A. Youngblood, age 52 of Attica, died on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 as a result of injuries sustained in a vehicle accident. Lori was born in Danville, IL on February 4, 1959 and was the daughter of Don Youngblood and Marilyn (Hargan) Jacobs. She was a 1977 graduate of Covington High School. She was raised and lived in Fountain County most of her life. Lori served in the US Navy for 8 years. She previously worked as a CNA and had recently worked at the Walmart Optical Lens Lab in Crawfordsville. She loved animals and offered an adoptive home to many cats and dogs over the years. Surviving are, mother and stepfather, Marilyn Jacobs (husband: Larry) of Covington, IN; brother, Jeff Youngblood (wife: Joyce) of rural Warren County; stepbrothers, Tony Jacobs (wife: Sherrie) and Jason Jacobs (wife: Calie) of rural Fountain County; aunt and uncle, Carolyn “Sis” and Jerry James of Covington; and dearest friend, Jamie Shackleford of Attica. Lori was preceded in death by her father, Don Youngblood, grandparents, John Francis and Margaret June Hargan, and Ralph and Virginia Youngblood, and uncles, Gerald Hargan and Lyle Youngblood. Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Sunday, January 8, 2012 from 1:00 p.m. until service time at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Charles B. Anderson officiating. Interment will be at Potomac Cemetery with full military honors. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The Sharon L. Bassett Foundation, 42 Virginia Ave, 1st Floor, Indianapolis, IN 46204, which helps families in Indiana and Vermilion County Illinois living with breast cancer.
