James L. “Jim” Talbert, age 74 of West Lebanon, died at 10:50 A.M. on Friday, September 7, 2007 at St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital.
Jim was born in Marshfield, IN on October 16, 1932. He was the son of George and Dora (Lowrance) Talbert. Jim attended West Lebanon and Danville, IL schools. He was a West Lebanon resident all of his life.
Jim worked as an over the road truck driver, driving coast to coast for 53 years. He last worked for Dallas Mavis. He enjoyed dancing, was a Cubs fan, and fan of country music with George Jones as his favorite musician. He loved driving his truck and greatly loved his grandchildren.
Surviving are, 2 sons, Steve Talbert of Danville, IL and Bobby Fox of West Lebanon; 3 daughters, Cheryl Buck (husband: Warren) of Danville, IL, Tanzy Sturgeon (husband: Mark) of West Lebanon, and Kelly O’Neal of Iowa; 2 sisters, Virginia Cherry of Florida and Marilyn Leach (husband: John) of Tennessee; 24 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, 1 son, Jim Talbert, and 1 brother, Jack Talbert.
Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in West Lebanon from 11:00 A.M. until service time at 1:00 P.M. EDT on Tuesday, September 11, 2007. Pastor Cathy McCoy will be officiating. Interment will be at West Lebanon Cemetery. To offset funeral expenses the family requests donations be made to Grady Funeral Home.
