Eva M. (Gee) Harden Lape, age 88 of New Ross, IN and formerly of West Lebanon, IN, died at 6:10 a.m. on Sunday, May 20, 2012 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.
Eva was born on September 30, 1923 in Marshfield, IN. She was the daughter of Chauncy B. and Ida May (Murphy) Gee. She attended Marshfield school. Eva was a longtime resident of West Lebanon and had resided in New Ross the past 13 years. She married Hurshel J. Harden in 1943. She later married Hubert M. Lape on September 6, 1961. He preceded her in death on April 30, 1999.
Eva had worked at the New Ross Grocery Store. She attended Calvary Baptist in Crawfordsville. Her church and family were her life.
Surviving are, 1 son, William L. Harden (Debbie) of Crawfordsville; 1 daughter, Sara Wrede (Ryland) of New Ross; 4 brothers, Bruce “Jake” Gee (Pat) of Covington, Howard Gee (Mary) of Williamsport, Frank Gee (Mary) of rural Williamsport, Richard “Dick” Gee (Tiny) of Marshfield; 1 sister, Ann Wesley (Millard) of Kramer; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Eva was preceded in death by 2 daughters, infant Judith Ann Harden and Lois Byers, and a son, Hurshel Wayne Harden.
Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in West Lebanon on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Randall Glenn officiating. Interment will be at West Lebanon Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church.
