Raymond C. Fleming

Raymond C. Fleming, age 96 of West Lebanon, died at 8:40 p.m. on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at St. Vincent Hospital Indianapolis due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Raymond was born in West Lebanon, IN on March 5, 1916. He was the son of Walter R. and Bertha A. (Brenner) Fleming. He was a Warren County resident all of his life. He was a 1935 graduate of Williamsport High School and on April 24, 1937 he married Mildred L. Comer in Clay City, IN. She preceded him in death on January 23, 2002. Raymond worked at Alcoa in Lafayette retiring in 1978 after 23 years of service and continued to farm for many years. He was a member of the Williamsport Christian Church and loved working on his yard and farming. He was also a member of the F & AM Lodge #352 West Lebanon and the OES #162 West Lebanon receiving his 50 year pin from both organizations. He was also a member of the High Twelve in Lafayette and greatly enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving are, 5 grandchildren, Eric Fleming (wife: Stacey) of West Lebanon, IN, Marcia Hood (husband: Bruce) of Brazil, IN, Jason Fleming (wife: Shirley) of Warsaw, IN, Mark Pendleton of Lafayette, IN, and Jennifer Baldwin (husband: Duane) of Williamsport; several nieces and nephews; 13 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandson. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Mildred, brother, Edgar Clark Fleming, son, John Steven Fleming, daughter, Barbara Rae Pendleton, and an infant great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Hood. Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Sunday, September 23, 2012 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. with F & AM and OES services at 7:45 p.m. Services will be at the Williamsport Christian Church on Monday, September 24, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Jesse Stoner officiating. Interment will follow at West Lebanon Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Masonic-Eastern Star Home for Children, 2415 North Main Street Fremont, NE 68025.
