Lois F. (Collins) Cunningham, age 59 of rural Williamsport, died at 9:41 A.M. CST on Thursday, January 3, 2008 at Provena USMC in Danville, IL. She had been in failing health the past 4 years.
Lois was born on January 1, 1949 in Parke County, IN. She was the daughter of John and Lucille (Sanders) Collins and step-daughter of Gene Collins. She attended Gerstmeyer High School in Terre Haute, IN. On December 21, 1966 she married Darrell Cunningham in Elizabethtown, IL. He survives. Lois was a resident of Williamsport since 1966.
Lois worked as the deli manager at the Covington IGA for 25 years. She was a member of the Community of Christ Church in Georgetown, IL. She enjoyed cooking and especially enjoyed being with her grandchildren and family.
Surviving with her husband, Darrell, are, 1 son, Mark A. Cunningham of Marshfield, IN; 1 daughter, Jackie Kiger (husband: John) of Covington, IN; 7 brothers, Ralph Collins and Stanley Collins both of Crawfordsville, IN, Paul Collins and Ernie Smith both of Terre Haute, IN, Duane Collins of Covington, IN, Harold Collins of Casey, IL, and Otto Collins of Indianola, IL; 3 sisters, Jeanette Anderson of Danville, IL and Carol Johnson and Karla Stewart both of IL; 6 grandchildren, Cassie Jo and Cody Cunningham, Rachel and John Michael Kiger, Catie and Hannah Brandt; and step-mother, Gene Collins of Indianola, IL. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, Fred Collins and Jim Collins, and 4 sisters, Nancy McWinney, Namoi Collins, Beth Collins, and Mary Helen Griffin.
Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport from 11:00 A.M. EST until service time at 2:00 P.M. EST on Saturday, January 5, 2008. Elder Duane Collins will be officiating. Interment will be at West Lebanon Cemetery.
