Inez B. (Taylor) Adams, age 97 of 6881 E. St. Rd. 26, Pine Village, IN passed away at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at the Woodland Manor Nursing Center in Attica, IN where she had resided for a year.
Inez was born April 27, 1915 in Somerset, KY. She was the daughter of Oswyn and Annie (Trimble) Taylor. She earned her teachers’ certificate from Eastern KY State Teachers College in 1935 and taught in the Somerset area for a year. On February 15, 1936 she married Thomas A. Adams in Somerset, KY. He passed away on October 8, 1989. During their married life they lived in Cincinnati, OH and Warren County, IN where they settled. Inez was very active in the operation of their farm. They raised chickens for many years. She also worked at ALCOA for a number of years.
Since 1988, Inez spent her winters in the Okeechobee, FL area where she loved to go fishing. Inez was a 50 year member of the Eastern Star receiving her 50 year pin. She was also a member of the Pine Village Christian Church. She was an amazing woman with an amazing spirit who lived on her own and took care of her yard up until 2 years ago. Surviving are one sister, Eva Sparks of Mt. Vernon, KY, one brother, James Taylor (wife: Mary Jane) of New Albany, IN, one sister-in-law, Henrietta Taylor of Hamilton, OH, many loving nieces and nephews, and her companions for the past 23 years, Ron and Joyce Smith of rural Pine Village. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Glen, Dennis, and Henry Taylor.
Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Monday, November 26, 2012 from 11:00 until service time at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Paul Stamm officiating. Eastern Star services will be at 12:45 p.m. Interment will be at Pine Village Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Pine Village Christian Church.
