Roberta J. (Sally) Kramer Baker, age 70 of Williamsport, IN died at 11:08 a.m. on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital.
Roberta was born in New Brunswick, NJ on August 19, 1942. She was the daughter of Joseph and Theresa (Cardinale) Sally. She had lived in West Lafayette from 1974 and has resided in Williamsport since 1992. She graduated from Trenton State College with a bachelor’s degree in education in 1964 and later received a master’s degree from Indiana University in 1974. She married Chuck Baker on January 1, 2000 in Williamsport. He survives.
Roberta taught grade school in New Jersey and was an associate professor and a media librarian in the Purdue Instructional Media Center. She worked for Purdue University for 27 years. She later owned and operated Kramer Antiques & Lodging in Williamsport. She was past president of both the Chamber of Commerce and Kiwanis - Williamsport. Roberta loved Williamsport and its residents. She was instrumental in several projects in the community. She enjoyed collecting antiques.
Surviving with her husband, Chuck, are 1 son, Adam Kovac (wife: Sarah) of Wheaton, IL; 1 step-son, Charles Michael Baker of Williamsport, IN; 1 step-daughter, Patty A. Martin (husband: William) of Glasgow, KY; 2 sisters, Joan Komar and Bernadette Sanford of Murrells Inlet, SC; and 1 grandson, Milo Kovac of Wheaton, IL. Roberta was preceded in death by her parents.
A celebration of life will be held at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 from 5:00 until memorial service at 8:00 p.m. with Rev. Don Williams officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kiwanis International.
