Dorothy R. Sollers, age 63 of Dayton, IN, went home to be with her Lord Savior Jesus Christ on December 4, 2012 at Wishard Burn Unit in Indianapolis, IN after suffering extensive burns from an apartment fire.
Dorothy was born March 23, 1949 in Williamsport, IN. She was the daughter of Phillip and Beulah (Johnson) Sollers. She lived the majority of her life in the Lafayette area. She was married to Harold L. Kincade, the father of her children, and they later divorced. He preceded her in death.
Dorothy was a homemaker most of her life. She worked for a short time at The Trackside Inn in Delphi and at the Delphi and Lafayette armories. She also sold Avon, Tri-Chem Paints, and was a girl scout leader. She enjoyed watching and listening to Nascar and her favorite driver was Jeff Gordon. She also enjoyed fishing, country music, watching and listening to Joel Olsteen. She loved to babysit and to play cards. She loved her bird, Tiki.
Surviving are, 2 daughters, Tammy L. McCoy (husband: Todd) of Lafayette and Julie A. Saubert (husband: Ralph) of Monticello, IN; 3 sisters, Edith Kell of West Lafayette, Gladys Stone of Otterbein, and Marilyn Emerson of Pine Village; 6 grandchildren; and 1 great-granddaughter. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Saturday, December 8, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. until service time at noon. Interment will follow at Independence Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wishard Burn Unit or the memorial account in her name at Regions Bank in Lafayette.
