Jeanette (See) Mitchell, age 97 of Danville, IL, died at 3:45 a.m. on Sunday, December 23, 2012 at The Waters of Covington. Jeanette was born in Danville, IL on March 19, 1915. She was the daughter of Robert and Lula (Thornton) See. She lived in Vermillion County, IN for 30 years and Danville, IL the past 40 years. She graduated from Danville High School in 1933. She married Theodore Harlan Mitchell in 1934. He preceded her in death on December 24, 1969. Jeanette attended Gessie United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Vermilion County Homemakers and the Danville Readers Club. She was a homemaker and enjoyed playing bingo. Surviving are, 5 children, Betty Anne MacAlexander (husband: Bill) of Tulsa, OK; Robert Harlan Mitchell (wife: Cathy) of Perrysville, IN; Mary Elaine Dorwart of Indianapolis, IN; Jeanne Miller (husband: Johnny) of Covington, IN; and Carol Howard (husband: Gary) of Kingman, IN; 9 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Jeanette was preceded in death by her husband, 1 brother, William See, and 1 sister, Eleanor Mourer. Visitation will be at Gessie United Methodist Church on Saturday, December 29, 2012 from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Jason Dean officiating. Interment will follow at Hicks Cemetery in Perrysville, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s choice.
