Donald Michael Wilson, age 55 of Attica, IN died at 3:59 p.m. on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at IU Health Hospital in Lafayette, IN.
Michael was born in Danville, IL on January 3, 1957. He was the son of Donald Lee Wilson and Peggy Jean (Kennedy) Bowman. He graduated from Seeger High School in 1975. He resided in Warren County until moving to Attica in 1983. He was previously married to Debbie Wilson of Attica.
Michael served in the US Air Force. He worked as a battery charger for C & D Technologies in Attica for 35 years. Michael was a member of the Attica Moose Lodge #1482. He loved IU basketball and the Chicago Cubs. He enjoyed Nascar and Jeff Gordon and attended many races at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed mushrooming, hunting and fishing.
Surviving with his parents, are, 1 son, Kristopher Michael Wilson of Attica; 3 brothers, Jeffrey Lee Wilson (fiancé: Missy Timmerman) of rural Attica; Gary Dean Wilson of Michigan City, IN; and John Kenneth Wilson of rural Williamsport; and a special aunt, Cindy Synesael of Williamsport. Michael was preceded in death by his grandparents, Kenneth B. and Geneva M. Wilson.
Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Saturday, January 5, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. John T. Adams officiating. Military honors will immediately follow the service at the funeral home. Private interment will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the IU Simon Cancer Center.
