Jane V. (Wadleigh) Horn, age 88 of Earl Park, IN died at 5:55 p.m. on Monday, April 29, 2013 at the Williamsport Health & Rehabilitation Center. Prior to that, she was residing at The Jennie E. Caldwell Memorial Home in Earl Park, IN.
Jane was born on September 5, 1924 in Algona, IA. She was the daughter of Roy L. and Ruth A. (Merrill) Wadleigh. She graduated from Brook High School and attended Purdue University. She resided in Pine Village and Fowler, IN for most of her life. On December 4, 1943 she married Willis B. Horn. He preceded her in death on December 3, 2009.
Jane had attended the Pine Village United Methodist and enjoyed reading her Bible. She was an excellent seamstress, was a member of the quilt club, and loved to start making quilts but never quite got them finished. She was the queen of mushrooming and loved to be outdoors. Jane was hardworking and enjoyed raising cattle at the “Little Gem”. She had an adventurous spirit, with always a story. She had fond memories of her first car which was a Studebaker. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

2 daughters, Becky Harmon (husband: Craig) of Brooksville, FL and Sandra Jones-Heinold (husband: Gary) of Pine Village, IN
4 grandchildren, Jennifer Gick (husband: Alan) of Fowler, IN; Amber Liu (husband: George) of Bloomington, IL; Nicholas Smith (wife: Tiffany) of Bloomington, IN,; and Christopher Smith (wife: Cindy) of Chicago, IL
7 great-grandchildren, Ashley Corns (husband: Mark), Brittney Gick, Kieran Liu, Collin Smith, Caden Smith, Kendall Smith, and Bryce Smith
Jane was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Richard Wadleigh, sister, Mary Wadleigh, and great-grandson, Finn Ming Liu.
Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Friday, May 3, 2013 from 10:30 a.m. until service time at 12:30 p.m. with Rev. Charles B. Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Watseka, IL. Memorial donations may be made to the Benton County Public Library or the Williamsport-Washington Township Public Library.
