John "Rick" Richard Gibbs

John “Rick” Richard Gibbs, age 56, of Williamsport, IN died at 2:25 p.m. on Monday, April 29, 2013 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. Rick was born on April 10, 1957 in Colfax, IN. He was the son of John Emery and Rhea Alice (Ramsey) Gibbs. He grew up in Colfax, IN and graduated from Clinton Prairie High School in 1976. He had lived in Warren County the past 35 years. He married Marie Snyder on June 14, 2003. She survives. Rick worked for the Town of Williamsport the past 26 years. He attended the Judyville United Methodist Church. He was a past 4-H leader and had served on the volunteer fire department for 20 years. He loved to collect things and was constantly busy. Rick had a great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. He enjoyed going for drives with his wife and spending time with his grandchildren. Surviving with his wife, Marie, are, 2 children, Jeremy Richard Gibbs (wife: Evan) of Lafayette, IN and Tasha Kerst (husband: Willie) of Williamsport, IN 2 step-children, Michelle Divan of Marion, IN and T.J. Rust (wife: Ruth Ann) of Atlanta, GA 1 sister, Shireley Carrol (husband: Bob) of Lebanon, IN 1 brother, Jim Gibbs of GA 3 grandchildren, Mallory Kerst, Billy Kerst, and Lucy Gibbs 6 step-grandchildren, Nikki Divan, Robert Divan, Clayton Rust, Addi Rust, Trevor Rust, and Emily Rust Skyler Gibbs of State Line, IN who he thought of as his own son Rick was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Charles Gibbs, and 1 step-son, Ross Rust. Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Friday, May 3, 2013 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Services will be there in the chapel on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastors Hugh & Erma Rohrer officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon, IN. Memorial donations may be made to the 4-H Fair Board.
