Robert “Bob” Lee Overpeck, age 93 of West Lebanon, went to be with his kind Heavenly Father at 1:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at his residence.
Bob was born in Newellton, LA on April 10, 1920. He was the son of Harry Lee and Tressie (Biddle) Overpeck. He was a 1939 graduate of Rockville High School. He resided in Rockville until he married W. Louise Smith on June 30, 1946 in West Lebanon, IN where they had resided since their marriage. Louise survives.
Bob served in the US Navy in the transport system during World War II, spending time in Guam, Brisbane, Australia, and several other Islands. He farmed in Warren County, then worked at the Veterans’ Administration Hospital for 25 years, retiring as a welder in the maintenance department in 1985. He was a devoted member of the West Lebanon Christian Church where he was a past elder, life member of the VFW Post #3318 Attica, member of the American Legion Post #259 Williamsport, and Vice President for Indiana Rural Youth. He was also a member of the West Lebanon Lions Club and a past Warren County Farm Bureau Chairman He enjoyed attending WCEA Men’s Meetings and had attended the Kiamichi Men’s Clinic in the Ozark Mountains. He was very patriotic and enjoyed having garage sales and attending auctions.

4 grandchildren, Jill Eberly (husband: Bob), Amanda Duchemin (husband: Craig), Matt Overpeck, and Elizabeth Overpeck
1 great-grandson, Conor Eberly
Bob was preceded in death by 1 brother, Richard “Dick” Overpeck, 1 sister, Jeanne Whipple, and 1 son, Lee Robert Overpeck.
Visitation will be at West Lebanon Christian Church on Saturday, July 6, 2013 from noon until service time at 2:00 p.m. with Minister Bruce Thornsbrough officiating. Interment will follow at West Lebanon Cemetery with full military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hanging Rock Christian Assembly.
