Evylin Marie (Pugh) Whistler, age 101 of Williamsport, IN died at 7:15 p.m. on Sunday, September 8, 2013 at the Williamsport Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Evylin was born on August 4, 1912 in Jennings County, IN. She was the daughter of the late Earl and Bertha (Pearson) Pugh. Evylin was raised in Warren County, IN and spent a short time in Illinois. She graduated from Rossville, IL High School in 1930. On December 21, 1935 in Kentland, IN Evylin married Loyd Whistler. He preceded her in death on March 11, 1990.
Evylin lived the past 24 years in Warren County. She had attended the Judyville United Methodist Church and was a homemaker and farmer’s wife.
Surviving are, 2 sons, Larry “Butch” Whistler (Kate) of Plattsmouth, NE and Lewis “Mike” Whistler (Darlene) of Pine Village, IN; 1 son-in-law, James McIntosh of Williamsport, IN; 8 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. Evylin was preceded in death by her daughter, Evylin Ann McIntosh, 4 sisters, 2 brothers, and 1 great-granddaughter.
Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. with Rev.’s Hugh and Erma Rohrer officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery in Williamsport, IN. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial contributions be made to the Warren County Community Foundation-Valerie McIntosh Memorial Fund.
