Anna Jean Hunter

Anna Jean Hunter, age 87, formerly of rural Williamsport, passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2008, at 2:00 A.M. at her home at Westminster Village in West Lafayette. Anna was born in Williamsport on March 15, 1921, to John B. and Irene (Hall) Crone. On June 4, 1941 she married H. Park Hunter in Williamsport. He preceded her in death on October 31, 2007. Anna was a graduate of West Lebanon High School and attended DePauw and Indiana Universities. She loved life as a rural homemaker, her flower gardens, music, and gatherings with her extended family. Anna was involved in community with a variety of activities in her church, Farm Bureau, and as a parent and leader of school, Scout, and 4-H groups. She was a believer in encouraging youth and, with her husband, had established the Hunter Scholarship at the Warren County Community Foundation. She is survived by family in which she took great pride: three children, John (Candace) Hunter of rural Williamsport, Ben (Linda) Hunter of Tab, and Jeanne (Dennis) Siebers of Livermore, CA. The Hunters’ grandchildren are Park (Anna-Lisa) Hunter, Scott (Mindy) Hunter, Amy (AJ) Booher, Becky (Troy) Wiley, John B. Hunter, Grant (Jackie) Siebers, Zachary Siebers, and Anna Siebers. Great-grandchildren are Anna and Erick Hunter, Solomon, Isaac, Jonah, and Jude Hunter, Kayla, Joe and Zachary Booher. Also surviving are two brothers: J Hall and Boyd (Virginia) Crone. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents. Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Saturday, May 31, 2008 from 10:00 A.M. EDT until service time at noon. Rev. Roger McDaniel will preside. Interment will be at West Lebanon Cemetery. The family request that, in lieu of flowers, memorials might be made to the Warren County Community Foundation for the Hunter Scholarship Fund or to Trinity Presbyterian Church of West Lebanon.
