Thelma J. (Lewis) Campbell, age 87 of Williamsport, IN died at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, December 6, 2013 surrounded by her loving family at Woodland Manor Nursing Center in Attica, IN where she had resided the past 3 years.
Thelma was born on September 25, 1926 in Diamond, OH. She was the daughter of Thomas and Laura V. (Griffith) Lewis. She graduated from an Ohio High School. She married Grant G. Campbell on August 2, 1945 in Williamsport, IN. At that time she moved to Warren County where she resided until moving to the nursing home. Grant preceded her in death on July 12, 1998.
Thelma worked for Warren County REMC in Williamsport for 30 years as a cashier retiring in 1989. She was a member of the Williamsport Christian Church and past matron of the OES Rocky Dale Chapter #111. She enjoyed crocheting, working out in her yard and spoiling her grandkids.
Surviving are, 1 son, Mark Lewis Campbell (Linda) of Lafayette, IN; 5 grandchildren, Scott Campbell (Linda), Todd Campbell (Amy), Dean Campbell (Cheryl), Shelley Burton (Stephen) and William Stovall (Heather); and several great and great-great grandchildren. Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, Ralph, Elmer, and Trevor Lewis, and 1 son, Gary Alan Campbell.
Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Monday, December 9, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Don Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery in Williamsport, IN. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
