John A. Larch died at home at 1:20 a.m. on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at his residence after a long battle with emphysema. He was born in Williamsport, Indiana, March 27, 1934 to R. Lowell and Gladys Biggs Larch. He graduated from Boswell High School in 1952 and Purdue University in 1956. On April 10, 1955, he was married to Frances Ann Lorton in the Boswell Methodist Church. He was employed in the Trust Department of the Purdue National Bank and later owned Mitchell-Larch Realtors and John Larch Appraisals. He was a musician and played piano and vibes in local dance bands for over 50 years. He is a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Purdue Alumni Association, Classic Car Club of America and was a founder and past President of the Lafayette, Indiana, Historic Auto Club. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Fran; a daughter, Lisa Webster and husband, David, of Hope, Indiana; a son, John W. (Jack) Larch and wife, Kathleen of Fishers; his beloved grandchildren: Bethany Webster Mize and husband Bryce, Haley Webster, Katherine Larch, Elizabeth Larch and John W. Larch, Jr.; a cousin, Velma Barrett of Tab; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Barbara and Don Ford and Mary Jane and Paul Lorton.
Graveside services will be on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Locust Grove Cemetery, 8362 N 600 W, Ambia, IN 47917. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Sanctuary Building Fund, Christ United Methodist Church, 3610 South 18th Street, Lafayette 47909 or the Salvation Army.
