Thelma P. (Parker) Powell, age 99 of Covington, IN died at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2014 in her home of 67 years.
Thelma was born on June 16, 1914 in Fairmount, IL. She was the daughter of A.J. and Rose Ann (Pulliam) Parker. She graduated from high school in Marshall, IN. On August 2, 1941 she married James L. Powell and he preceded her in death on October 1, 2001 after 60 years of marriage.
Thelma was a farm wife with everything that entails since 1946. She was a member of the First Church of Christ in Covington, IN and was baptized there in 1946.

Great-grandchildren, Rhett VanVactor, Audrey VanVactor, Jackson Crocker, Jude Crocker, Spenser Crocker, and Sigrun Crocker
Thelma was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Elmo Parker, Forest Parker, and Orville Parker; 1 granddaughter, Monica Coffing, and 1 grandson, James Crocker
Visitation will be at First Church of Christ in Covington, IN on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Covington, IN. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the First Church of Christ/Haiti Mission Fund or the charity of one’s choice.
