Alta Marie (Kennedy) Wagner, age 87 of Williamsport was called home by the Lord at 2:42 p.m. on Sunday, July 6, 2014 at her residence.
Alta was born in Catlin, IL on February 23, 1927. She was the daughter of Miles Andrew and Jessie (Keister) Kennedy, Sr. She was a lifelong resident of Warren County and was a West Lebanon High School graduate. She married Richard “Shad” Dale Wagner on February 2, 1946 in Covington, IN. He preceded her in death on May 25, 2008.
Alta worked for McCabe Attorney At Law, Dr. James W. Crain, Dr. William A. Ringer’s office and retired from Warren Insurance Agency. She was a member of the Williamsport United Methodist Church where she served on their mission board and volunteered at the food pantry. She served on the Washington Township Trustee Advisory Board, volunteered at the St. Vincent Hospital Guild, and served on the election board. She was affectionately known as “grandma” to many people in the community. Her family was her life.

Alta was preceded in death by 1 son, Thomas Wagner, 2 brothers, Harrison and Miles Andrew Kennedy, Jr., and 2 sisters, Mary Shamp and Katherine Kinneer.
Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Thursday, July 10, 2014 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. with Ladies Auxiliary services and OES services at 7:45 p.m. Services will be there in the chapel on Friday, July 11. 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev.’s Charles B. Anderson and Cathy McCoy officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the His Mission or the St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital Guild.
