Alice M. (Hobaugh) Neal

Alice M. (Hobaugh) Neal, age 83 of Pine Village, IN died at 11:25 p.m. EDT on Friday, August 22, 2008 at St. Elizabeth Regional Health in Lafayette, IN. Alice was born March 1, 1925 in West Lebanon, IN. She was the daughter of Ed and Ota Ethel (Ogle) Hobaugh. She lived in Pine Village the past 58 years and had previously lived in West Lebanon. She was a graduate of West Lebanon High School. She served in the U.S. Army as a nurse’s aide. On April 9, 1950 she married Francis “Peanut” Neal at the Rainsville United Methodist Church. He survives. Alice was a member of the Pine Village United Methodist Church and a former member of the Rebekah Lodge. She loved to garden, can and cook. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her life. Surviving with her husband, Francis, are, 1 daughter, Gayle Biggs (husband: Jerry) of Lafayette; 3 grandchildren, Amy Kult (husband: Troy) of Pittsboro, IN, Neal Biggs (wife: Molly) of Brownsburg, IN, and Benjamin Biggs of Lafayette; and 3 great-grandchildren, Madison Kult, Kayla Kult, and Rylie Biggs. Alice was preceded in death by her parents, 7 brothers, and 3 nephews. Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Tuesday, August 26, 2008 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. EDT. Services will be there in the chapel on Wednesday, August 27, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. EDT with Pastor Mike Link officiating. Interment will be at Rainsville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pine Village Food Bank.
