Leroy Edgar Barnhart

Leroy Edgar Barnhart, age 84 of West Lebanon, IN died at 6:58 p.m. on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital. Leroy was born on October 14, 1929 in Bismarck, IL. He was the son of Lawrence Edgar and Beulah Ann (Allison) Barnhart. He attended Williamsport High School. On September 14, 1948 he married Evelyn Louise Stout in Williamsport, IN. She preceded him in death on February 28, 2009. Leroy was a farmer and also owned and operated the West Lebanon Hardware for several years. He was a member of the Williamsport Christian Church and served as a Warren County Commissioner. He liked spending time at his cabin and having family get togethers. Surviving are: 3 sons, Steve Barnhart of Bensenville, IL, Mike Barnhart (wife: Lori) of Williamsport, IN and Kevin Scott Barnhart of West Lebanon, IN; 1 daughter-in-law, Carla Barnhart of Lafayette, IN; 1 sister, Sue Thomas (husband: Dean) of TN; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Leroy was preceded in death by 2 sons, Jeff Barnhart and Rick J. Barnhart, and 3 brothers, Walter R. Barnhart, Carl E. Barnhart and Richard A. Barnhart. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, September 7, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at Highland Cemetery in Williamsport with Pastor Don Williams officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Community Action Program – MAC Van Fund.
