Paul Douglas Johnson, age 64, passed away in Williamsport at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2014.
Paul was born on July 29, 1950 in Hammond, IN. He was the son of Paul I. Johnson and Mildred (Sanders) Beason. He attended Seeger High School and later married Debbie L. Foster on April 12, 1974 in Crown Point, IN. She survives. They lived in Pence, IN for 28 years before moving to Williamsport, IN where they have resided the past 12 years.
Paul worked for the Indiana State Highway Department for 10 years before retiring in 1991. In his later years, Paul and his wife enjoyed working their concession wagon where Paul was known by many as the “Buffalo Man.” He enjoyed the festivals and meeting new friends. Visiting with friends was a joy of his. He was a people person and never met a stranger. He enjoyed his dog, Beau, and making his daily trips in the golf cart.
Surviving with his wife, are,
1 son, Brennen Johnson (Becky) of Lafayette, IN; 1 daughter-in-law, Heavenli Johnson of Lebanon, IN; 2 sisters, Judith Anderson and Glenda Johnson;and 5 grandchildren, Tyson Johnson, Carter Johnson, Lauren Johnson, Cayden Johnson, and Adler Johnson. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Specialist Mark Alan Johnson, brother, Max Johnson and a sister, Carol Johnson.
Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 from 3:00 p.m. until service time at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Rich Stoll officiating. Private interment services will be held at a later date at Rainsville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
