Lee G. Breeding, age 83 died at 5:10 a.m. CST on Friday, October 17, 2008 at the Iroquois Memorial Hospital in Watseka, IL.
Lee was born in Milford, IL on January 30, 1925. He was the son of Otto and Goldie Grace (Geddes) Breeding. He graduated from Milford Township High School in 1943. He lived in Hoopeston, IL prior to moving to West Lebanon in 1952. He married Ruth M. Miller in Milford, IL on January 28, 1947. She preceded him in death on October 23, 2001.
Lee served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked as a mechanic for Grubb Implement Co. in Covington retiring in 1989 after 30 years of service. He was a member of the Milford United Methodist Church, the VFW Post #2395 Covington and the Knights of Pythias Lodge of Covington. He enjoyed woodworking, carpentry, farming and spending time with his nieces and nephews.
Lee is survived by, 1 sister, Donna Appel of Milford, IL; nieces, Rhonda Tweedy (husband: Tim) and Ruth Ann Belding; nephews, Henry Appel and David Appel (wife: Robin); 7 great-nephews; 1 great-niece; and 1 great-great-niece. Lee was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in West Lebanon on Monday, October 20, 2008 from 10:00 a.m. EST until service time of 11:00 a.m. EST with Rev. Grover Williams officiating. Interment will be at the Danville National Cemetery in Danville, IL with full military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
