Lois E. (Murphy) Benedict

Lois E. (Murphy) Benedict, age 86 of West Lebanon, IN died at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at her residence. Lois was born on August 28, 1928 in West Lebanon, IN. She was the daughter of Earl and Pearl (Ricketts) Murphy. She graduated from West Lebanon High School in 1946 and was a resident of West Lebanon all of her life. On November 30, 1949 she marred Rolla Norton Benedict and he preceded her on April 22, 1981. Lois worked as a clerk at Old National Bank in West Lebanon for 50 years. She loved to bake, watch TV and go to the Covered Bridge Festival every year. She loved her kids and grandkids. Surviving are, 1 daughter, Christy Hay (husband: Ron) of West Lebanon, IN; 1 son, Nick Benedict of Veedersburg, IN; 2 grandchildren, D.J. Lancaster (wife: Kim) and Joshua Lancaster; and 2 great-grandchildren, Olivia and Gabriel Lancaster. Lois was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Per Lois’ request there will be no services.
