Doris Anna Lou (Osborn) Soey, age 96 of Vandalia, MO, formerly of Covington, IN, died at 4:58 a.m. on Sunday, January 11, 2015 at Tri County Care Center.
Anna Lou was born on September 15, 1918 in Alpena, SD. She was the daughter of Herschel and Ella Alvina (Burnison) Osborn. She was a 1939 graduate of Moody Bible Institute. On September 1, 1941 she married Hubert Soey. He preceded her in death on October 23, 1980.
Anna Lou helper her husband on the farm. She retired from Danville VA Medical Center in the housekeeping department. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Vandalia, MO and formerly a member of the First Baptist Church of Covington, IN.
Surviving are, 3 sons, Marvin Soey (wife: Mary Jane) of Vandalia, MO, Leon Soey (wife: Connie) of Gilmer, TX, and Daryl Soey (wife: June) of Nixa, MO; 1 brother, Lowell Osborn (wife: Betty) of Covington, IN; 1 sister, Ona Lee Fowler of Crawfordsville, IN; 6 grandchildren, Michael Soey (Violet), Marla Jennings (Dwayne), Shawn Soey, Shelly Soey, Rachel Soey, and Ellen Oxales (Verden); 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Anna Lou was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Visitation will be at First Baptist Church of Vandalia on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 from 10:00 CST until service time at 11:00 a.m. CST with Rev. Mike Barter officiating. Graveside service will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Covington, IN on Thursday, January 15, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. EST. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Vandalia Building Fund.
