Thomas L. Lemming

Thomas L. Lemming, age 52 of Williamsport, died at 12:30 p.m., Saturday, November 29, 2008 at the St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital after a 3 month battle with cancer. Tom was born in Lafayette, IN on March 18, 1956. He was the son of Morris L. and Carol (Shoaf) Lemming. Tom attended Pine Village school and was a 1974 graduate of Seeger High School. He was a lifelong resident of Warren County. On January 31, 1975 he married Anita L. Johnson in Williamsport. She survives. Tom worked at Tate & Lyle, formerly known as Staley’s, in Lafayette since 1976. He was a member of the Attica Christian Church. He enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his family. He was a good family man. Surviving with his wife, Anita, are, 3 children, Matthew Lemming (wife: Brooke) of Tulsa, OK; Robin McGrew (husband: Max) of Lafayette, IN; and Kari Lemming, at home; parents, Morris and Carol Lemming of Otterbein; 2 sisters, Randy Sturgeon (husband: Dave) of Oxford, IN; and Brenda Meador (husband: Dick) of Attica, IN; 1 brother, Rick Lemming (wife: Jennifer) of Indianapolis, IN; 2 grandchildren, Thomas McCord Lemming and Emma Chase Lemming; and several nieces and nephews. Tom was preceded in death by his grandparents, Eugene and Connie Shoaf, and Floyd and Ethel Lemming. Visitation will be on Monday, December 1, 2008 at the Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. EST. Services will be there in the chapel on Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. EST with Rev. Bob Elness officiating. Interment will be at Armstrong Chapel Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Attica Christian Church, Warren County Community Foundation or the American Cancer Society.
