Diana Lynn (Sturgeon) Van Dame, age 57 of Williamsport, IN went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 31, 2016.
Diana was born on November 21, 1958 in Williamsport, IN. She was the daughter of Delmar W. Sturgeon and Marilyn J. (Hollis) Larson. She graduated from Seeger High School in 1977 and received an Associates Degree in Accounting from Indiana Business College. She lived in Warren County most of her life, living briefly in Benton County. She married Steve Dwenger in August 1982 in Dunnington, IN and they later divorced. She then married Larry W. Van Dame on February 14, 1995 in rural Williamsport. They later divorced.
Diana worked as a waitress in Boswell, IN, then at the Williamsport Town Hall as a clerk and most recently as a cook for the Head Start Program in Oxford, IN. She enjoyed reading, cooking and canning. She was an excellent seamstress. She was devoted to volunteering at the Williamsport United Methodist Church Food Pantry. She did taxes for several family and friends.
Surviving are, mother and stepfather, Marilyn and Richard “Dick” Larson of Williamsport; son, Steve Dwenger (Laura) of Oxford, IN; daughter, Morgan Van Dame, a student at Purdue University; siblings, Pamela J. Dadacz (John) of Oxford, IN, and Mark Sturgeon (T.J.) of Boswell, IN; step-siblings, Robin Larson of Williamsport, IN and Lori Larson-Cooper of Williamsport, IN; and 2 grandchildren, Daniel Jeffery Dwenger and Thomas Steven Dwenger. Diana was preceded in death by her father, Delmar Sturgeon, brother, Randy Sturgeon, and infant brother, Jeffery Sturgeon.
Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport, IN on Thursday, February 4, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until service time at noon with Rev. Cathy McCoy officiating. Interment will follow at Rainsville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Grady Funeral Home to offset funeral expenses.
