Vernon Taylor, age 93 of Williamsport, IN died at 7:13 p.m. on June 5, 2016 at his residence.
Vernon was born on April 8, 1923 in Warren County, IN. He was the son of Herman N. and Delta (Roderick) Taylor. He was a Warren County resident all of his life. He married Musetta Brandenburg on July 14, 1943. She preceded him in death on November 5, 1993. On September 3, 1994 he married Dora Mae (Campbell) Johnson. She survives.
Vernon was an electrician for Don Fowler and then was a self-employed electrician. He was a farmer and also worked for Wyman Gordon retiring in 1988. He enjoyed fishing and mushroom hunting. He liked to watch the deer and geese in his yard.
Surviving with his wife, Dora Mae, are, children, Kay Wheeler (Dale) of Diamondhead, MS, Dick Taylor (Karen) of West Lebanon, IN, Carl Taylor of Lafayette, IN, Jim Taylor (Cathy) of Williamsport, IN, and Marsha Taylor of Lafayette, IN; step-children, Aaron Johnson (Patty) of Grovertown, IN, Paula Thomas (Roy, Jr.) of Williamsport, IN, and Eric Johnson of Colorado Springs, CO; son-in-law, Ronald Moody of West Lebanon; siblings, Alice Hutchison, Edith Davis (Don), Carolyn Hale (Bill), Lois Hensley, Joe Taylor (Susie) all of Covington, IN, Clara Crawford of Monticello, IN, Linda Burmeister (Ralph) of Danville, IL, and Jack Taylor (Janet) of Williamsport, IN; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Vernon was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Musetta Taylor, daughter, Maxine Moody, and siblings, Dora Lou Taylor, Calvin Taylor, Barbara Rowe and Dorthy Hoagland.
Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Thursday, June 9, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at West Lebanon Cemetery.
