Betty C. (DeBord) Hurley, age 90 of Williamsport, IN died at 6:54 p.m. on Sunday, July 3, 2016 at Williamsport Nursing and Rehab Center.
Betty was born on June 16, 1926 in Williamsport, IN. She was the daughter of John D. and E. Coral (Hurd) DeBord. She lived in Williamsport all of her life and was a 1944 graduate of Williamsport High School. On April 8, 1944 she married Richard K. “Dick” Hurley. He preceded her in death on November 29, 2004.
Betty worked for the Citizens State Bank in Williamsport and Duncan Electric in Lafayette. Later she was a seamstress who did dressmaking and upholstery in her home. She was a past attendee of the Williamsport United Methodist Church. She enjoyed antiquing and refinishing furniture. Betty loved to do crocheting, knitting and baking.
Surviving are, 1 son, James R. Hurley (wife: Julie) of Mt. Plymouth, FL; 1 daughter, Nancy J. Wolfe (Husband: Ted) of Attica, IN; 2 sisters, Marian Day of West Lebanon, IN and Martha Pursifull of Markle, IN; 5 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and 1 son-in-law, Barry Worl of Fremont, IN. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Dick Hurley, daughter, Melinda G. Worl, brother, Albert P. “Alby” DeBord, and grandson, Brian W. Wolfe.
Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Thursday, July 7, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Charles B. Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery in Williamsport, IN.
