Evelyn E. (Hickman) Bever

Evelyn E. (Hickman) Bever, age 91 of Covington, IN died at 1:35 pm CDT on Monday, June 8, 2009 at Provena USMC in Danville, IL. Evelyn was born on November 17, 1917 near Marshfield, IN. She was the daughter of Jesse and Emma (Taylor) Hickman. She married Robert C. Bever on October 14, 1938 in Covington, IN. He preceded here in death on June 26, 1983. From 1940-1966 they lived in Dayton, OH, returning to rural Williamsport for 13 years before she moved to Covington in 1989. Evelyn worked as a clerk at the Base Exchange and Taylor Shop for Wright Patterson Air Force Base. She enjoyed making quilts. Surviving are, 1 brother, Lloyd Hickman (wife: Carolyn) of Covington; 1 half-brother, Merle Hickman (wife: Sarah) of Kingman; and 1 half-sister, Carol Zink of Otterbein, IN. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, stepmother, Lona Martin Hickman, husband, Robert, 2 brothers, Howard and Max Hickman, and 1 half-sister, Betty J. Hickman. Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Wednesday, June 10, 2009 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm EDT. Services will be there in the chapel on Thursday, June 11, 2009 at 11:00 am EDT with Audley Wiley officiating. Interment will be at Chenoweth Cemetery, rural Williamsport. Memorial donations may be made to the donor’s choice.
