Jeanne Ruth (Ullrich) Hoitenga

Jeanne Ruth (Ullrich) Hoitenga, age 69 of Williamsport, IN, passed away at 3:45 a.m. on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital. Jeanne was born in Chicago, IL on September 30, 1946. She was the daughter of Jacob and Lillian (Fanderich) Ullrich. She was a 1961 graduate of Calumet High School and attended the University of Illinois where she received a degree in accounting and German. Jeanne married Erhard Weisner and they had 2 children, Evelyn and Kenneth. She then married Roberto Barragan and they had a son, Robert. She married Joseph C. Hoitenga on October 10, 1981 in Chicago, IL. He survives. She and Joseph lived in Chicago until 1995 when they moved to Williamsport, IN. Jeanne previously worked as a bookkeeper in Chicago, IL and Lafayette, IN. She most recently had been working in home health care. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran in Danville, IL and a former member of the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church also in Danville, IL. She loved to travel and was an avid reader. She loved to take care of her plants and her dog, Snickers, and her canary, Sunshine. Her life was her family. She especially loved her children, grandchildren, and stepchildren. Surviving with her wife, Joseph, are, 2 children, Evelyn Marie Meredith (Mark) of Rossville, IN and Robert J. Barragan of Hammond, IN 1 brother, Stuart Ullrich of Wesley Chapel, FL 5 grandchildren, Daniel Rosado, Tanya Denham, Savannah Jewell, Cheyenne Czernik, and Sierra Czernik 4 great-grandchildren, Nikolas Jewell, Hayden Denham, William Kramer, and Wyatt Kramer Numerous stepchildren, step-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Kenny Weisner, and 1 great-grandchild, Timothy Jewell. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
