Anna Jean (Ward) Slauter, age 90 of Bloomington, IN, formerly of Warren County, IN, died at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at IU Health Hospice in Bloomington, IN. Anna was born on November 13, 1926 in Hedrick, IN. She was the daughter of Forest and Lottie (Miller) Ward, Sr. She graduated from West Lebanon High School in 1944 and was a longtime Warren County resident. She married Charles William Slauter on October 18, 1946 in Williamsport, IN. He preceded her in death on November 29, 2005. Anna worked at Our Place Restaurant and Harrison Steel. She was a member of the Pence United Methodist Church and had attended Williamsport United Methodist Church. She was a member of Psi Iota Attica and the Williamsport American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Anna enjoyed being around her family, reading, boating and water skiing, and playing cards. She absolutely loved to play golf. Surviving are, 1 son, Mark Slauter (Marge) of Greenwood, IN; 1 daughter, Deborah Ohl (Terry) of Bloomington, IN; 2 sisters and 1 brother, Jo Ann Koekenberg of Attica, IN, Beverly Skeleton of Bradenton, FL and Forest Ward, Jr. of VA; 7 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. Anna was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Lee Ward and Kenneth Ward, and sisters, Dawn Carrigan and Barbara Salts. A graveside service will be held at Jordan Cemetery in Pence, IN on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Steve Vitaniemi officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Warren County Community Foundation or donor’s choice.
