Ron J. “Duder” Roberts, age 36 of Lincoln, IL died at 6:06 pm CST on Friday, October 30, 2009 at St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL. Ron was born in Danville, IL on January 6, 1973. He was the son of Ronald Roberts and Dorie (Johnson) Benting. He was a 1991 graduate of Attica High School and later attended Lincoln Tech. He spent most of his life in Portland Arch, Indiana and had lived in Lincoln IL for the past 6 years. Ron attended Bethel Lutheran Church. He was an avid comic book collector, especially Iron Man. He enjoyed science fiction, especially Star Wars and Star Trek. He loved animals and being with his friends and family. Surviving are, mother, Dorie Benting of Veedersburg, IN; 2 sons, William Tuttle and Johnathon Tischer of Portland Arch, IN; 1 daughter, Bethlynn Tischer of Portland Arch, IN Fiancee, Jen McAtee of Lincoln, IL; grandmother, June Johnson of Danville, IL; grandfather, Ben Benting of Covington, IN; many loving aunts and uncles and cousins; and special friends, Ron Lockhart, Monte Garrett, and Chuck Klein. Ron was preceded in death by his father, stepfather, Ronald “Ike” Benting, grandmothers, Elizabeth Roberts and Tena Benting, and grandfathers, Wilford Johnson and Jack Roberts. Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport from 11:00 until service time at 1:00 pm on Monday, November 2, 2009 with Pastor Zachary Rainey officiating. Interment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Danville, IL. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the funeral home to offset funeral expenses.
