Glen E. "Beano" Sewell, Sr.

Glen E. “Beano” Sewell, Sr., age 71 of West Lebanon, IN died on November 4, 2009 at his residence. Beano was born in Williamsport, IN on September 21, 1938. He was the son of the late Jesse C. and Thelma E. (Hurley) Sewell, Jr. He was a lifelong resident of Warren County but had resided in Clermont, FL for 3 years. He attended Williamsport and West Lebanon schools. He married Kathleen Pitcock in 1956 in Williamsport, IN and she preceded him in death on December 11, 1988. Beano owned and operated the Shell gas station and Jim Dandys Tavern both of West Lebanon. He then worked for Harrison Steel Casting Company in Attica, IN and later the Williamsport Liquor Store. He was a member of the Moose Lodge #1482 Attica and the Attica Eagles. He enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, riding motorcycles, and Nascar racing. He was an avid Cubs and IU fan. Surviving are, 3 children, Vicki Chavis (Husband: Dempsey) of Lake Mary, FL, Glen E. Sewell, Jr. (wife: Gloria) of Kissimmee, FL, and Gary Sewell (wife: Angela) of Gotha, FL; 1 sister-in-law, Judy Sewell of Williamsport, IN; 4 grandchildren, Jordan Chavis, Allison Chavis, Kathleen Sewell and Katelyn Sewell; 3 step-grandchildren, Erin Gambrell, Jon Gambrell, and Nathan Service; special friend, Doris Hurt of West Lebanon, IN; and loving nieces and nephews. Beano was preceded in death by a brother, Don Sewell. Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in West Lebanon on Friday, November 6, 2009 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. A private memorial service will be at a later date with interment at West Lebanon Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Williamsport Senior Center.
