Joan (Oteham) Tucker

Joan (Oteham) Tucker, age 76 of Attica, IN died at 5:55 am on Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at St. Vincent Hospital Indianapolis. Joan was born on June 14, 1933 in Attica, IN. She was the daughter of the late Edmond Frances and Louella (Stanglemier) Oteham. She was a graduate of Attica High School and was a lifelong resident of Attica. She married Daniel Tucker on August 5, 1956 in Attica and he preceded her in death on December 12, 1989. Joan worked for The Daily Ledger Tribune in Attica as a linotype setter. She then ran the Pizza Place in Attica where she was affectionately known as “Mom”, and worked as a dispatcher for the Fountain and Warren Counties police and fire departments. She was a member of the Independence Riverview United Methodist Church and was a life member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post #3318 Attica where she had served as past President and Chaplain. She was treasurer of the Fountain Warren County Humane Society and was an animal lover. Surviving are, 2 brothers, Robert “Bob” Oteham (wife: Pat) of Marshfield, IN and Frances Oteham (wife: Carol) of Portland, Oregon; and many loving nieces and nephews. Joan was preceded in death by her husband and a great-nephew, Aaron Miles. Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Saturday, November 7, 2009 from 11:00 am until the Ladies Auxiliary Service at 1:00 pm. The auxiliary service will be immediately followed by the funeral service officiated by Pastor Dan Jordan. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Attica, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post #3318 Attica or the Fountain Warren County Humane Society.
