Weslie Farrar Sr., 79, of West Lebanon, died 4:10 pm Friday January 1, 2010 at Provena United Samaritan Medical Center in Danville, IL.
He was born May 2, 1930 in Monticello, IN the son of Earl and Florence (Hunnicutt) Farrar. Weslie married Ellie Pearl Spicer July 18, 1953 in Valdosta, GA.
Surviving family includes wife Ellie Pearl Farrar, West Lebanon; two daughters, Wonda (Jeff) Gosser, West Lebanon; Wenda (Guy) Like, Danville, IL; son, Warren “Jeff” Farrar (companion, Vicki) West Lebanon; four brothers, Melvin (Pat) Farrar, Williamsport; Albert “Dude” Farrar, West Lebanon; twin brother, Leslie Farrar, Deland, FL; Phillip Farrar, Attica, OH; two sisters, Vivian (Kenney) Green, Independence; and Ada Turner, Arkansas; fifteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by a son, Weslie Farrar Jr. 3 brothers and 6 sisters.
Weslie served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was employed as an ironworker out of Local #379 in Lafayette, owned and operated Wes’s Garage & Wrecker Service in West Lebanon for 30 years, volunteer fireman in West Lebanon for 27 years, Warren Co. Reserve Deputy Sherriff for 20 years.
Funeral service will be 1:00 pm Tuesday January 5, 2010 at Grady Funeral Home in West Lebanon with Elder Willie Elrod & Elder James Elrod officiating.
