Miles Andrew Kennedy

Miles Andrew Kennedy, age 84 of Williamsport went to be with the Lord at 9:45 p.m. on Sunday, January 17, 2010 at The Waters of Williamsport. Miles was born in Catlin, IL on May 15, 1925. He was the son of Miles Andrew and Jessie D. (Easter) Kennedy, Sr. He was a 1943 graduate of West Lebanon High School. He was a lifelong resident of Warren County. Miles served in the U.S. Navy from 1943-1946 during World War II serving in the European and Pacific Theatres receiving a purple heart. On August 19, 1967 he married Rovene Hutts Stull in West Lebanon. She survives. Miles farmed and operated Kennedy Brothers Trucking with his brother, Harrison. He worked at the Co-op Elevator in West Lebanon from 1974 until he retired in 1985. He was a member of the American Legion Post #259 Williamsport, VFW Post #3318 Attica, DAV Worthington Chapter in Indianapolis, IN, AARP, and the Warren County Farm Bureau. He enjoyed gardening, picking berries and sports. He loved his grandchildren. Surviving with his wife, are, 2 daughters, Glenna Johnson (husband: Mike) of Lafayette, IN and Shirley Jean (husband: John) of Attica, IN; 1 brother, Fred Kennedy (wife: Pat) of Williamsport, IN; 4 sisters, Delilah Lucas, Alta Wagner, Betty Bennett, and Shirley Borst (husband: Chuck) all of Williamsport, IN; 6 grandchildren, Jill Sillery (Bruce), Adam Johnson (Regina), Misty Bossaer (Jason), Marcus Jean (companion: Leslie Rice), Lisa Budreau (Roger), and Carmen Jean (Jeff); 14 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Miles was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Mary Shamp and Katherine Kinneer, and 1 brother, Harrison Kennedy. Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Tuesday, January 19, 2010 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Services will be on Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Williamsport Christian Church with Rev. Don Williams officiating. Interment will be at West Lebanon Cemetery with full military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to the Williamsport Christian Church.
