Howard R. Wilson, age 90 of Columbus, IN, longtime resident of Williamsport, IN died at 9:00 pm on Sunday, January 31, 2010 at Columbus Regional in Columbus, IN.
Howard was born in Storyville, IN on May 12, 1919. He was the son of James B. and Eliza (Harden) Wilson. He had been a resident of Warren County since 1955 until moving to Columbus in 2004. He attended Judyville School. He married Wandoline Grace Siddens on September 5, 1940 in Williamsport. She preceded him in death on October 5, 2001.
Howard was self-employed as a repairman who loved working on generator starters. He also was a gas truck driver for DX gas, which was owned by his brother, Leonard. He worked under Oral Gayler at the County Highway for 12 years. He was a member of the Williamsport United Methodist Church.
Surviving are, 2 daughters, Lavena Farney of Columbus, IN and Kay Clark of Williamsport, IN; 1 son, James A. Wilson (wife: Nancy) of Columbus, IN; several nieces and nephews in the Columbus area and 1 nephew, Harold Wilson of Williamsport, N; 3 grandsons; and 7 great-grandchildren. Howard was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Wednesday, February 3, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Services will be held there in the chapel on Thursday, February 4, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Charles B. Anderson officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the Williamsport United Methodist Church or the American Diabetes Association.
