Richard K. Strickler, age 55 of Williamsport died at 11:55 a.m. on Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at his home after a long battle with cancer.
Richard was born on January 4, 1955 in Williamsport, IN. He was the son of Francis E. and Mary M. (Stonebraker) Strickler. He was a 1973 graduate of Williamsport High School and lifelong resident of Williamsport. On November 28, 1999 he married Weda K. Brundige. She survives.
Richard was a self employed carpet layer who learned the trade from Ed Parker worked at the VFW Post #3318 Attica for 23 years. He was a Scout Master for the Boy Scouts in Williamsport. He was a family man and wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. Richard loved helping people and especially enjoyed playing with his granddaughter, Graci.
Surviving with his wife, Weda, are, 1 son, Cory Brundige of Williamsport; 1 daughter, Kimberly Brundige of Williamsport and Michelle Manis, whom he loved like a daughter; 1 sister, Sheryl Harger (husband: Jim) of Williamsport; 4 brothers, Dave Strickler (wife: Connie) and Charlie Strickler (wife: Joyce) both of Attica, IN, Kevin Strickler (wife: Vickie) of Williamsport, and Phil Strickler (wife: Lisa) of Lafayette, IN; 1 granddaughter, Graci Brundige; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Richard was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Saturday, June 5, 2010 from 1:00 until service time at 4:00 p.m. with Rev. John T. Adams officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the Warren County Summer Park Program.
