Rettie G. Hill, 87, of Talbot IN, died 8:05 pm Tuesday July 20, 2010 at her son’s residence in Talbot. Rettie was born December 20, 1922 in Tazwell , Tennessee the daughter of Samuel and Martha (Hensley) Lambert. She married Orville Hill December 24, 1940 in Tazwell, he preceded her in death in 1990. She is also preceded in death by a son Sam Hill, a granddaughter, two grandsons, and several brothers and sisters. Surviving family include three daughters, Martha L. James (husband, Wayne) of rural Williamsport; Geneva Niccum (husband, Jerry) of Talbot; Jeannette Moore (husband, Donald) of Harrogate, TN; a son, Harley L. Hill (wife, Lucille) of Talbot; three sisters, Lillie Smith, of Monroe, MI; Loria Swope of Campbell County, TN; Leoria Rice of Monroe, MI; one brother T.J. Lambert of Monroe,MI; ten grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Talbot Missionary Baptist Church . Before her retirement she had been employed at the Williamsport School for many years. She loved to make quilts and go to area flea markets. Visitation will be 5:00 – 8:00 pm Friday July 23, 2010 at Grady Funeral Home in Wiliamsport, IN. Funeral service will be 1:00 pm Monday July 26, 2010 at Claiborne Funeral Home in New Tazwell, Tennessee . Visitation will begin at 10:00 am on Monday at the funeral home in Tennessee and continue until the time of service. Pastors Joel Whitehead and Willie Elrod will be officiating. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery in Tennessee . Family request memorial contributions be given to Talbot Missionary Baptist Church . Online condolences at www.gradyfuneralhome.com
