Robert Lee Rolan, age 78 of Williamsport died at 4:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 16, 2010 at St. Vincent Hospital Indianapolis.
Robert was born on July 30, 1932 in Williamsport, IN. He was the son of Bud McClatchey and Bertha (Wantland) Rolan. He was a 1951 graduate of Williamsport High School. He married Lois Maxine Trott on August 12, 1951 in Williamsport and she survives.
Robert was a lifelong resident of Williamsport. He worked for Olan Mathis Corp. He started out as a production worker and retired as an accountant. He was a member of the Williamsport Christian Church. He was a former Williamsport-Washington Township Public Library board member, served as a Washington Township Trustee for 16 years, and a coach and founder of the Prairie States Swim League (PSSL). In 1960 he was elected by Look Out magazine as their National Sunday School Superintendent of the Year.

1 son, Gregory L. Rolan (wife: Jan) of Williamsport; 1 daughter, Lisa Rolan Swanson (husband: Randy) of rural Attica; 8 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and 6 step-great-grandchildren. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather, Walter Rolan, 4 brothers, and 4 sisters.
Visitation will be at the Williamsport Christian Church on Sunday, September 19, 2010 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Services will be there on Monday, September 20, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Don Williams officiating and Pastor Jesse Stoner assisting. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery in Williamsport. Memorial contributions may be made to the Williamsport-Washington Township Public Library or the St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital Guild.
