Carl Stanley Bowen, age 68 of Pine Village, died at 5:30 a.m. on Monday, September 27, 2010 at his home surrounded by his loving family after a 4 month battle with cancer.
Carl was born on February 14, 1942 in Warren County, IN. He was the son of Elmer and Irene (Abston) Bowen. He attended Locust Grove and Boswell schools and was a Warren County resident all of his life. On December 10, 1994 he married Irish Rose Thomas in Lafayette, IN. She survives.
Carl was a farmer. He also owned and operated Bowen Trucking and later Bowen Excavating. He attended the Rainsville United Methodist Church when he was a young child. Carl enjoyed fishing, farming and his cattle. He was a pilot and flew his own plane. His grandchildren were his joy.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents, 1 son, Kevin Bowen, 1 stepson, and 1 stepdaughter.
Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Services will be there in the chapel on Thursday, September 30, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with Elder Ron Geyer officiating. Interment will be at Jordan Cemetery in Pence, IN. Memorial contributions may be made St. Elizabeth Hospice.
