Harold L. Foster, age 77 of Williamsport died at 2:43 p.m. CST on Saturday, October 16, 2010 at Carle Clinic Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL as a result of complications of an accident on the farm.
Harold was born near Spencer, IN on August 3, 1933. He was the son of Haughty and Lana (Lowe) Foster. He was a 1952 graduate of Ambia High School. On December 6, 1953 he married Dorothy Mitchell in Tab, IN. She survives. He had resided in Warren County since 1945 and lived at his home place the past 42 years.
Harold was a farmer all of his life. After his retirement, he was a shuttle driver and delivered parts from store to store for Birkey’s Farm Store for the past 11 years. He was a member of the Tab Church of Christ where he served as an elder and chairman of the board and taught Sunday School. He loved baseball and basketball, especially Purdue and the Cubs. He loved watching his grandchildren play sports.
Surviving with his wife, Dorothy, are, 1 son, Rick Foster (wife: Alice) of Danville, IN; 2 daughters, Rhonda Robbins (Husband: Rick) of rural West Lebanon and Jean Harper (husband: Randy) of Williamsport; 1 brother, Johnnie Foster (wife: Carolyn) of Wolcott, IN; 1 sister-in-law, Mary Foster of Boswell, IN; several nieces and nephews; a special cousin, Linda Wallace of Lafayette, IN; and 8 grandchildren, Ryne Foster, Ty Foster, Jesse Robbins, Ali Robbins, Zackery Harper, Laina Harper, Mitchell Harper, and Nathan Harper. Harold was preceded in death by 1 brother and 3 sisters.
Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Tuesday, October 19, 2010 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Services will be held on Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Tab Church of Christ with Pastor Rod Andrews officiating. Interment will be at Locust Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Tab Church of Christ or American Cancer Society.
