Bobby Owen Beardsley, age 83 of West Lafayette, IN died on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at St. Elizabeth East in Lafayette, IN. Bobby was born in Hedrick, IN on December 19, 1933. He was the son of Ora S. and Lillian L. (Lape) Beardsley. He was a Williamsport High School graduate. He married Luella Gee on December 27, 1957 in Williamsport, IN and she preceded him on March 28, 1990. He later married Linda S. (Davis) Sigman on February 11, 1995 and she survives. Bobby was a Warren County resident most of his life. He served in the Army National Guard for 4 years. Bobby attended barber school in Indianapolis and worked as a barber in Lafayette, IN. He then worked for Davis Construction in Lafayette, IN, National Homes in Lafayette, IN and Kerkhoff Association of Otterbein for many years. He retired from Benton Community Schools. Bobby was a member of the Evergreen Wesleyan Church. He enjoyed playing the piano, gardening, livestock auctions. He loved animals and enjoyed watching his great-grandkids play. Surviving are, wife, Linda Beardsley of West Lafayette, IN; children, Bobby Beardsley (Sheri) of Attica, IN, Dyrl Beardsley (Stephanie) of New Ross, IN, Stuart Beardsley (Brenda) of Laurel, IN, and Nisha Swank (Mike) of Crawfordsville, IN, Leah Martin (Peter) of Lafayette, IN, Kevin Sigman of Henderson NV, and Kraig Sigman (Annie) of Lafayette, IN; son-in-law, Bob Baldwin of Lafayette, IN; sister-in-law, Frances Beardsley of Crawfordsville, IN; mother-in-law, Ileta Davis of West Lafayette, IN; 25 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He also raised several foster children. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Luella, brother, Derlan Beardsley, daughter, Karen Baldwin, and great-granddaughter, Gracie Rae Phillips. Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. until service time at 3:00 p.m. Interment will follow at West Lebanon Cemetery with military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to offset funeral expenses or to the Evergreen Wesleyan Church.
